Steam Shovel

Danny Martin puts the 1923 Bucyrus steam shovel through its paces recently at the Nederland Mining Museum. The lone survivor of twenty-five of its kind used in the building of the Panama Canal, the shovel languished in Lump Gulch near Rollinsville until 2005 when Martin moved it to its present site. The relocation was featured on the History Channel’s Mega Movers.
